Then she went to University of Arizona. University of Arizona where she was a three-time All-American pitcher and a first baseman. In addition, she won the Honda Award as the nation's best softball player in 2001 after the Wildcats were awarded the national championship and in 2002 she was named the best player in the nation. Wounded Warrior amputee softball (WWAST), a team made up of amputees, has a goal to promote awareness and raise funds via showcase games, famous softball teams and other events that highlight the courage and sacrifices of our soldiers and their families and the way they are able to overcome any challenge. Their goal is to show other amputees how these athletes, by undergoing intense rehabilitation and training, are able to perform and play the sport they are passionate about.
